The History of Haiti
Galloway traveled to Haiti after John Brown was executed. He and other abolitionists planned a raid on the American South, hoping to incite a civil war. The US drew up plans to conquer Haiti and turn it into a slave state in the 1850s. Galloway: All you had to do to start a civil war apparently was to get a moderate Republican named Lincoln in office.
