Is the Bank of England Taking Away the Guilt Market?
Sterling has been saying all year that UK fundamentals are grim. The Bank of England has been failing to turn Sterling around with interest rate hikes, and that's certainly been the case since the spring. Investors don't like what they see even more because of the budget last week. It does accelerate the movement into safe haven for the dollar.
