Kristin Yovaris is a clinical psychologist at McLean Hospital. She says there are three main ways to define normal as opposed to disordered eating. Being able to adaptively change what one eats, being able to eat a variety of foods is the first trait common to people who have normal eating habits. Eating because you're hungry and stop when you're full or simply for the pleasure of it can also lead to anorexia.
