The Great Falls and the Captains of the Great Falls

Under army protocols, the men were entitled to a quarter of a glass of whiskey per day. If he could have carried five times as much alcohol as he did, they would have probably used it. It's possible that the two captains had a private supply that they kept back partly for medicinal purposes and we just don't know. But there's never a sense that alcohol was a problem after they left Camp Wood.
