How Do You Prioritize in Uncertain Times?
Before cobble fell, there is obviously increasing risk provinces throughout afghanistan. One of the main longer termor medium term projects that i tried to put forward at the central bank was to increase financial inclusion. Hispois: Did you take different regional emproaches in trying to include more people within the central bank in its activities? And if we walk back a bit oviously, before the talben's encroachment, one of the projects you were working on was obviously more inclusion within the wider system on a national level.
Ajmal Ahmady is the former Governor of the Central Bank of Afghanistan, Da Afghanistan Bank, and the latest guest on the Value Perspective. Juan and Emily had the opportunity to talk with Ajmal about the work he accomplished during his tenure including inflation stabilisation and digitised money wallet. They also discussed decision making as a central bank during times of crisis and conflict, including how the DAB made decisions as the Taliban encroached towards the capital.
