Using interpretability tools we may be able to provide the user some clues. We could also check attention patterns to get a sense for how myopic the model's thinking is currently. This kind of direct access to a generative model can let us extend human imagination with tools which represent the natural structure of a domain. For example, in the case of images, we can use this to take a face which is not smiling and make it smile by moving in just the right direction in latent space.
