If we knew tomorrow that COVID stems from a lab accident in Wuhan, that would supercharge our efforts to regulate the proliferating high-containment virology labs around the world. China is building a level four lab in every one of its provinces. If we're here in New York, there's a regulator or a non-regulator in Uzbekistan who is or isn't overseeing a virology lab and our safety and security and lives may depend on what happens there. It's just a crazy way to do things.
