Why Don't You Just Add Comments?

I believe that people are basically good until you turn on comments. What I'm hearing is, why won't you let me speak? Yes. And it reminds me of that thread from the Reddit CEO when he was going through and saying, you know, we just want to build wonderful features, but you all keep being horrible to each other. So we have to stop building wonderful features and go in and create all this infrastructure to stop you being mean to each other... That sounds right. It's almost like like the electric field you make together only exists when you're there. If you pull apart, it's gone.
