After the East Palestine train crash, they started shooting down all the hobby balloons. When that happened, a lot of people said, this is a distraction from what's happening in Ohio. This thing is not a frame of mind that's confined to any one political tendency. What it's distracting from is not an event or a phenomenon but a lack. It is a hole in the center of life.
