Neoliberalism's Dark Legacy

This chapter examines the political and economic parallels between the U.S. and Yugoslavia during the regimes of Reagan and Milosevic, focusing on the damaging effects of neoliberal policies on the working class. It highlights the rise of nationalism and oligarchy amidst economic chaos following the Soviet Union's collapse, as well as the paradoxical expansion of state power and regulation. Ultimately, the discussion reveals how neoliberalism has perpetuated human rights abuses and social disparities, symbolized by the oppressive presence of riot police.
