The Importance of Warm Ups in Human Performance
Why do we need long protracted warmups when every other animal on earth goes about their daily existence without having to do the warm up? When we're sitting at rest, our body is not in an optimum state for movement. I think these sort of proper highly developed warm ups are really optimum for competitive athletes who are trying to do something pretty extraordinary. And this is where the warm up starts to get longer and more complicated is when we're really trying to fully optimize human performance.
