Having an externalized business mind is what i call it. No piece of data about your business should live in your head as the owner, nor should it live in any team members. So the first thing you can do is get in the habit of writing things down. I use text expander for all kinds of stuff. There are so many ways to capture information about the business and the operations that even if a hurricane does not hit, you knowthat what happens when the power goes out or you have to be out of your home for three months. We want our businesses to be growing, but we don't want to bea these little keyboard rats which are just hunched over our keyboards
