The s and p's election manifesto says that the party will seek to hold a second independence referendum after the coved crisis is over. But under uk. Law, the scottish government cannot agree to latterly hold an independent referendum. It must seek permission of the government in westminster to do so by something called a section 30 order. And if scotland should choose to have a referendum on its own, that might spell further questions down the line. Yes, i think this would turn more from a political question into a legal question. The supreme court will probably be tasked with looking into the competences of the sc Scottish government on basely unilaterally holding a referendum. So
