The Advantages of Killing Off AM Radio
Every cell phone can receive at least one of AM or FM and rarely ever actually lets you do it. So if you want to hear it, you're going to need a headphone jack that your manufacturer probably deleted out of the phone in most cases. If you want to send these things using roughly 500 to 1700 kilohertz to get those RF properties, fine. That doesn't mean we need to send it as raw analog amplitude modulated audio.
