Ironic Summons to Battle
Egypt and its mercenaries are called upon to battle. Verse 9 contains another ironic summons to battle. The Lord behind the routing of the army of the Egyptians and their mercenaries is having a day of vengeance. They're afflicted by terror on every side, and they don't look back as they flee and retreat.
