The Dilemma of China's Chip Wars

If Chinese firms have access to much less capable chips and therefore face limitations, inefficiencies, higher costs when they try to train and develop AI systems. That's the dilemma that imposes on China over the longer run. You know, it's not a problem for this year or next year, but it is a problem for the late 2020s. The thing that really struck me is the appreciation I've developed for advanced manufacturing. There's an extraordinary set of companies capable of moving materials at basically the atomic level whose capabilities are necessary to produce all the computing that you and I rely on.
