Jamaica reopened its borders to touris in june of 20 20, after almost four months without tourists. Mass guidance and weekly testing requirements for tourists and workers felt like a small price to pay. When they became available, so did vaccines. The first covid 19 shots arrived in jamaica in march of 20 21,. making the island the first caribbean nation to receive doses through w h o's kovak programme. Things opened up even more in the summer of 20 21 when many visitors to jamaica were vaccinated, but many tourism workers still weren't.
