Sally Kohn: One of the things that struck me just now, and it strikes me in your work, is that you really are very closely attached to the classical canon. How do you kind of navigate this deep, I guess lifelong love of, you know, the master's quote unquote?Kohn: The at the root of all of the new musicology is how to open musical texts up to cultural meanings. And they have both the most wonderful things our culture has ever produced and also some of the most pernicious.
