If there are vowels on either side of it, you're not emphasizing the start of the syllable where that t or d is in Australian English. And they also have things like the glottal stop in the place of a t as well. So if you miss or mix those kind of up in the way that you speak, then it can come off a little bit British at times. But it's not the end of the world, right? We're still going to understand you. What matters is you being able to use your English and communicate with people.
