One of the questions that was burning in my heart as somebody trained in 18 try european history. I've written a first book on the making of modern bureaucracy in eighteenth century britain. You know, the simple version is that at some point in early modern europe, many european governments began to use these new practices of scientific understanding of assortment and abstraction to gove their populations. And they theen that intensified over the history of the world. Now we do it even more.
