I have this feeling that language in our own tiny span of life, 80, 60, 70, whatever years we get, it feels like it's a concrete thing, which was set in stone when I was born. And so the idea that language cannot be changed does seem to be just bound to the small little lifetime that we have. If you look at it over many years, a great example is my children.
