Kroger's Merger With Albertsons
Kroger and Albertson's employees are fighting to stop the merger with everything they have in them. A study done by Errol Schweizer brought to light that a whopping 75% of Kroger's workforce is food insecure. Many full-time employees of grocery stores rely heavily on public assistance just to survive, such as SNAP benefits and Medicaid. This problem is so pervasive that US Government Accountability Office has reported that large grocery companies employ workers enrolled in both programs.
