The Orpheus and Eurydice Framework

I suspect that there's a bit of mournfulness and melancholy in the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. I really do regard that story as talismanic for me. And I've written another poetry that's informed by its motifs. The story of Christ doesn't factor so prominently in my imagination, as does this Orphic myth. It's very different from other kinds of art forms poetry because we don't use clay to sculpt conversations with each other,. We don't have conversations like that, you know, at the dining room table, right? That is not how we communicate.
