Hitchcock's "Torn Curtain" came very late in his career. It was a Cold War spy thriller with two big stars, Paul Newman and Julie Andrews Forced on Hitchcock by the studio. The movie is back in the wheelhouse of "North by Northwest" And very topical subject matter Again, James Bond, as you say, very popular at the time.
