Why You Shouldn't Lay Off Experienced Employees
There's a good reason not to lay off your most experienced workers, but that good reason has nothing to do with how hard you worked to train them. We need people who are able to look at new opportunities, embrace them for what they are and also have thee to talk about what's come before. If an experienced employee isn't able to do those things, if the experienced employee is merely using tenure or longevity as an excuse to stay there, then the organization needs to take a deep breath and say, well, what are the benefits of working with someone who is not contributing?
