A lot of people like to mobilize shame and blame because it's effective, but because it's more cathortic. I have a book coming out a later in 20 22, how to have difficult conversations about race. And one of the sections is the problem with shame based strategies. What i say to people all the time is it may feel good to approach this problem with that kind of tenor, but it's not productive.
