Is There a Difference Between Intentional and Unintentional Discrimination?
i'm curious about a distinction that you haven't made, which is between an intentional and unintentional discrimination. In the circumcision case, some one could argue that there is an intention to circumcise boys, but there is not an intention to cause them pain. And so perhaps the view could be that, e there is not wrongful discrimination, even in the pain sense, because, well, that's not being intentionally performed. i agree with feminists here that it doesn't have to be intentional. But the problem with intentions is that there can be some difficulties in working out when you do have the intention and when you don't has the intention.
