Missional congregations are shaped by an alternative discourse. Memory is that which has been left behind. Lived reality is the shaping of preferred futures. I can imagine the exiles in babylon weeping beside the waters, full of nastalgia for jerusalem. The gods of babylon are mighty and they are victorious. It's clear who's won.
