The Fallacy of the Experts

The fallacy of the experts is that everything seems obvious. And they cannot see what the new idea could develop to because they know too much about it. My modus operandi is learn as much as they can about the problem if I have the idea of what I want to do and then leave it. In my lab in the last 30 years we have closed research areas we were really well known for. That's why science can make advances is because there is this way of finding problems that coexist within discipline.
