When you experience new cultures like this, your brain actually changes and the chemistry of your brain changes because you're more aware of what's going on around you. Think about an artist like Van Gogh, for example, who paints his own room, the painting in a way that allows you to see it in a way you never saw before. And I think the same is true when we try to learn languages or when we tries to learn music or when we tried to learn mathematics. Each of those things actually creates new brain cells and new pathways in our brains. It's only when we put ourselves out like that that we can see things fresh.
