Isoria - A History of Anatolia
The Isorian commander stationed in Constantinople had already begun a rebellion against the emperor. The two sides met at Cottayam in northwest Anatolia in 492. Despite the large numbers of reported rebels, they were defeated by the imperial forces and many fled back to Isoria. This group of survivors turned to banditry and added to the lawless qualities of the region. John the Hunchback was sent to follow them up and spent several years subduing the remnants.
