CHAPTER

You Know, Knowledge for Its Own Sake

I don't think everybody should be sitting around wondering about why we're here, and why there's ten to the 20 second stars in the night time sky. I'd have nothing wrong with learning how to be an insurance person. It just shouldn't be done by the taxpayers largesse in any way. People are so consumed by workism that they don't ask themselves this question: What would you die for? Right? We need to preserve a space for liberal education,. Unless we have liberal learning, unless we live and examined life, we don't have answers to these questions.
