Stand-Up Comedy Is Very Much First Person, Is It?
stand-up comedy is very much first person, isn't it? It's very much you present a vantage point. I was once paid £20 to leave the stage in Edinburgh Festival,. and it's giving us so badly. But actually they're very important when you're learning those experiences. You have to be truly vulnerable in stand-up. The comedian may be talking about something that you have no experience of but you will find that point at which you feel truly connected to it. What I find very interesting is when people like Robin Ince, who are comedians, and also become very immersed in the world of science, make shows where science and creativity meet.
