The Principle of Indwelling Sin
John Owen defines sin as an inward principle that moves and inclines Constantly to any action. Indwelling sin is what the Apostle Paul refers to when he says I find it then a law That when I would do good evil is present with me. It's that principle of indwelling sin that gives credence and validity to what the apostle John writes in 1 John 1 8 He says if we have if we say that we have no sin We are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
