What's the Science of Consciousness Telling Us?
The science of consciousness is allowing inclinations to not just rely on external sience of consciousness, but to look inside the brain. Ad mean, what are we learning about psychiatric conditions, or psychological ditions, that is being illuminated by this kind of work? If you take an example from neurology, a, people who suffer severe brain troma often go into a coma where they unambiguously lose consciousness. And so now there's whole field of computation ith psychiatry, which is trying to understand the mechanisms that give rise to the symptoms that appear at the level of conscious experience.
