The History of the Aztec Temple

The Spanish claimed that display racks containing up to 130,000 human skulls were seen around the Aztec temple. But centuries had gone by without a trace of these supposed horrors. Scholars began to doubt the existence of these temples and macabre displays,. leaving that it was simply a false report from the Spanish to justify the brutal treatment and extermination of the Aztec people. In February of 1978 near Mexico City's metropolitan cathedral, power company workers were installing an underground transformer. While digging a shallow hole, they uncovered a giant monolith that led to the discovery of the ancient Aztec temple, Mayor.
