Is There a Disconnection?
The core thing with Christology, I think, is St. Gregor that theologian saying, what isn't assumed isn't healed. The understanding of atonement that St. Athanasius really gets at the idea and this is, it's categorized as recapitulation to try and bring it in line with St. Aaron and A.S. or however we want to categorize it. That through God taking upon himself our human nature, our human nature itself is strengthened and transformed and revitalized. And then that giving us, again, in the Orthodox Church, at least, this therapeutic view of sin and repentance.
