SARS in Hong Kong

SARS was Hong Kong's first experience with such infections. 1700 people were infected in Hong Kong and 300 people died. In 2003, the world was introduced to the chair of infectious diseases at the University of Hong Kong School of Public Health - Professor Yun Kuo-Yong. SARS will come back if you open up all the wildlife markets in China again... things always repeat itself. If it comes many years later, all the vigilance will be gone and the effect is much bigger. All the measures that we are now taken would be so downgraded that when it comes we will not be able to handle it.
