What's the Deal With Smells?
Sodium bicarbonate is a really confusing name because it's only one sodium. Baking soda can act as an odor eliminator by reacting with the acids in food and changing them into something else that isn't as smelly. The property of being considered acid or base, like being able to act differently in different situations is called amphoteric amph esoteric.
