Tár, Elvis, and Music at the Oscars
The Pitchfork Review
Baz Luhrman's "Elvis"
The film just brushes over large swaths of Elvis's career. The end of the film just gets really hazy and dark because things are clearly going downhill. And like Parker just kind of keeps him trapped in a casino until he takes drugs and dies. So basically they try to, I don't want to say fix history, but almost like own history that is uncomfortable in a way that is over the top and campy.
