Bread and Wine in the Eucharist
Bread and wine don't just drop out of heaven to us for the Mass. We had to put an effort in order to bring them to the Mass, he says. "Think about a good, hearty piece of bread, not just American Wonder Bread" The consecration of the Eucharist uses those same words that Christ used at the Last Supper: This is my body, this is the chalice of my blood.
