Outlot: What proportion of America's egg supply comes from smaller farms or even independent backyard breeders versus big industrial agricultural corporations? Glenn: I honestly have no idea. There are about 200 farms across the country; if you look at the top 20 in the United States, probably 80 plus percent of the eggs in the country are produced by the 20 largest firms.
