Confirmation bias is super common. Even scientists have to be really careful about it when they're trying to figure something out. This might help explain all the spooky stories about the moon. Once we got the idea in our heads that the moon causes trouble, we kept looking for evidence to prove that and created a case of confirmation bias. Yeah, other nights might have just as much trouble but we noticed when it happens during a full moon and that might influence the stories we tell about it.
