CHAPTER

The Miracle of Children

Shaggy was a really fun character for me to write, especially as a child. I wanted to write about this little boy who did nothing but love his mother and is almost an engine of love in her life. Shuggie spends a lot of the book trying to correct his own behavior. And one thing he's not really coping with is the horrible linen he has on his bed,. because it has different colours, and he thinks his mother would really hate that. But throughout all Shaggy orbits are like a moon, and cannot help, ultimately. He can't get out of her orbit.
