The key is getting that initial customer base, and then you get that customer base a sort of leverage to go into lots of different places. The fact that spotify isn't a record label may be a big benefit to them because they're less constrained. It's not clear that it's going to work. But i do think there is a quarity to the strategy. And again, it's why i'm so glad i waited, because just gimlet fact that it makes obvious sense kind of shows that it's kind of a lame strategyien.
