The Why of Israel's Slavery

God says it over and over and over for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow. So this is a why that should drive us to be willing to lay down our life for the vulnerable. And it has something to do with Egypt. Israel was enslaved in captivity for 400 years in Egypt. God met them when they were vulnerable. That's what God defrazzed. He decided long ago to adopt us as his children.
