The Editing Process
Sam Knight's piece on the death of the Queen was your sort of smash smash hit in 2017. Could we talk about how it typically works from conception of an idea through the reporting phase to edits and then closing the piece? I mean one thing to say is every every piece is such a boring thing to say but every piece is different and they come around in different ways and things like that. That particular piece had one of those like slightly fairy tale is obviously there are no fairy tales about conceiving of the pieces of long form journalism so you know take that with a pinch of salt.
