Flood Geology Interpretation of the Grand Canyon

Flat knife edged boundaries between rock layers indicate continuous deposition of one layera another with no time for erosion. Moser writes there should be no evidence of erosion or exposure to air if they were deposited in rapid succession beneath the flood water. There are at least 19 documented unconformities in the five thousand foot sequence of sedimentary rock in the grand canyon. Two such formation contacts feature spectacular buried channels that formed after the underlying units were deposited and their upper surfaces were eroded. Later, the channels were filled with sediment from the overlying formation. Caves form in solid limestone as fresh ground water dissolves the soluble rock over thousands of years.
