The Recognition of John Smith

If King Lear keeps rearing his head, if that hasn't died completely, could it cause the John Smith to identify with awareness? Christian of Mirdi almost always mentions recognition as memory. So how is this recognition not of memory? And wouldn't freedom be like the falling away of both the King Lear and John Smith? Yes, okay. There is no memory involved in that recognition. It is his present direct experience.
