The Problem With Technology as a Solution to Deep Social Problems
You suggest that technology is frequently recommended as a solution for deep social problems. Can you give us some examples of that and explain why you think that's problematic? In my new book project, I'm looking into how the Clinton administration saw closing the so-called digital divide between internet haves and have nots as like a solution to poverty and racial inequities. So I mean, I think that this kind of delusion is pretty far reaching in our culture. You can see it in all kinds of pop cultural ways.
